The Flash Memory Component (FMC) subscription service provides a quarterly review of flash product announcements from the top memory vendors, product analysis of four major flash chipsets and a summary and textual commentary of key design innovation from a circuit design perspective
Flash continues to be a very dynamic market, mirroring activity in the segments it supports, including handsets, digital cameras, and USB drives. While Samsung is perched as the current market and technology leader, the flash market is far from mature. Competing architectures (NAND, NOR) and implementations (SBC, MBC) continue to drive innovations in density and cost-per-bit. As well, new entrants include such DRAM players as Hynix, Infineon, and most recently Micron.
